Mast Rake

I mentioned last week that I changed the rake to a sweet position but I didn't measure it....

Well today I measured it for you.

6080mm

But.....today I think I could have put it further back, because it was really windy.....

but your are getting the idea.

  1. Worth considering raking it slightly more upright when windier. With the unstayed rig more upright means more leach tension and a flatter sail. (Migh t not work on the D-One, but worth considering). With the deck level adjustment you do have the option to move the whole rig backwards and forwards for balance too (I'm assuming it has an adjustabubble mast foot, otherwise I'm talking mince)

  2. That's a great idea.
You are right there is an adjustabubble mast foot.
Wondered when I would use that.
Thanks I will give that a go.
    :o)

  3. Just passing on a few Finn related pieces of wisdom that may also apply to the D-One.
The only other minor thing I can say is that we tend to talk in terms of the position of the boom in relation to the stern quarter rather than the positon of the traveller as it tends to be a more consistent measure.
